Purse into basket

This purse was not used and was perfect to transform into a basket.  The outside of the purse was made of knitted vinyl; the bottom was flat and sturdy. I easily removed the interior lining and handles with a thread remover or seam ripper.  After the lining and handles were removed I folded the top half of the purse inside.  The purse’s exterior was a heavy material and did not sag. It is a lovely basket for a few books.

Bonsai 101

I have been meaning to make a bonsai tree for ever.

Today is the day.

You will see how easy it is to cross one thing of your bucket list in less then an hour.

One pot, one rock and some copper wire.

A tree or two that always wanted to grow-up to be bonsais.

A book small enough to be read while having morning tea.

Sand, gravel and fertilizer (very important according to my savant book).

Take the dirt off the roots and figure out a good arrangement for your trees.

Put gravel and rock in pot. Mix potting soil, sand and fertilizer.

Voila!

Now water carefully every 2 to 3 days for 10 years and you have got yourself a bonsai.

The coper wire ? It's used for shaping but is was not needed since these two neglected trees already have a very nice shape.

Now take a look at your bucket list and kick something off of it!

It was a great party. The pizza and cake were delicious.

Between Judd and Mom, I'm not sure who won the competition to blow the most candles.

Wonderful 50's

Whether you are waiting to retire, sailing your life away, blogging away your days or going and/or went through too much in life, you still manage to smile.

A few pics from February

C'était merveilleux de faire un "road trip" avec Irène et de visiter la famille. J'ai pas de photos de la super visite chez GIl et Yvon, ni de la visite chez Maman, car je les ai prises avec un autre appareil.

6 Northern Sisters

Only sisters can appreciate this.  I thought I would share with you.  You don't have to share it with anyone since we are all on the blog.  I can't wait until we regularly post on here.  I have a cute story to share.  As you know, Marie started working yesterday, and Yvon and I thought we would go visit Brian in the evening so that he wouldn't be alone for too long, since it's his first time.  Turns out Marie didn't work when she got to work, but I'll let her explain that one.   Brian knew we were coming, so he wasn't so happy to see us.   But, I think they forgot to tell Hope.  She was jumping up and down and jumped on me and jumped from chair to couch and back and forth.  It was hilarious!!  All the good manners that Irene and the rest of us tried to show her, didn't work for the first hour.  She was all over the place.  Well I hope this tidbit brought a giggle or tear or both.  Enjoy this moment..  Love you all!
